Welcome to the Boys & Girls Club of Hood County!
The mission of the Boys & Girls Club of Hood County is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us the most,
to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.
Our goal at the Boys & Girls Club of Hood County is to help prepare our members to be the leaders of tomorrow. By doing so, we encourage positive attitude, education, good sportsmanship and friendship. Our aim is to empower boys and girls with the skills needed to face all types of challenges they may encounter.
The club bases its programs on membership, community involvement and its recognized roles as an advocate for youth.
The Boys & Girls Club of Hood County is aware of the influences of total involvement and so provides youth with relevant, everyday, varied and diversified individual and group services, based on proven principles of youth development, which will help achieve the health, social, education, vocational, character and leadership development of our membership.
Membership is open to youth ages 6 -18 who are enrolled in first grade or above, regardless of race, color, religion or national origin.
A non-refundable $20.00 membership fee must be paid in order for your child(ren) to become active members. It is good for (1) year.

Steps to become a member of the Club......
A parent or guardian must read and understand this handbook.
A parent or guardian and the member must sign all forms required by the Boys & Girls Club of Hood County.
A non-refundable $20.00 membership fee per child, must be paid.
After School Program: $35 Weekly
Discounts available for parents willing to place a Credit Card on file!
Open Door Policy
The Club has an “open door policy” stating that our members are allowed to enter and leave club facilities on their own. If you wish for your child(ren) to stay at the club it is your responsibility to make sure your child understands your wishes. The Boys & Girls Club of Hood County is not responsible for making sure your child stays at our Club location.
Health & Safety
It is very important that every parent understands and cooperates with the policies put in place for health and safety issues.
If your child is ill before leaving home, please do NOT bring them to the Club.
The Club is NOT a licensed daycare facility, we are not equipped with an area to isolate a sick child.
In case of an accident the club may obtain medical attention.
Prescription medications will NOT be administered by any of our staff.
If you are contacted due to your child being ill, that child must be picked up within (60) minutes of notification.
The Boys & Girls Club of Hood County provide our staff, or Youth Development Professionals, with all the training needed to qualify them as such. We do background screening, drug tests, and on the job training.
Member Dress Code
The following attire is NOT permitted in any of the Clubs. Persons dressed in any of the following will not be permitted into the building.
Inappropriate advertising on clothing (alcohol, drugs, cursing, sexual in nature, etc.)
tight fitting or revealing clothing
any excessive jewelry that can be used as a weapon (wallet chains, chain belts, etc.)
shoes with backs are always required
Member & Parent Rules & Regulations...
Members must bring their membership cards daily (if lost $1.00 replacement fee.)
Respect is a must.
Profanity, fighting or rudeness will not be tolerated.
Take proper care of the Club equipment and supplies.
Roughness, horseplay or running indoors will not be allowed.
No gum (unless given by staff and permitted to chew.)
Drugs, Alcohol or tobacco will not be permitted by ANYONE.
Parents & Guardians are asked to support staff. We never wish a member to be in “trouble”
We often find it necessary to inform the parents or guardians of behaviors or events. These are not negotiations, these are informational meetups for you.
We want to be a part of the team in developing youth, and to do that we need parental support.
Less than supportive reactions when we are discussing behavior issues will not be tolerated.
The Following acts may result in IMMEDIATE suspension:
Fighting, harming or threatening another member.
Possession of a weapon, or anything that can be used as a weapon.
Defacing or destruction of Club property.
Parent or guardian disrespect towards members or Club personnel or the organization in any form, on site, on social media or online or in any other form.
Proper behavior is expected at all times. When disruptive behavior becomes a problem the child is redirected to another activity or club service.
Continued disruptions or extreme incidents may result in suspension or expulsion.
We expect proper behavior from parents and/or guardians at all times as well.
If your child does bring a personal item, they may be asked for that item to put away or that item may be taken away and returned to the
guardian upon that child leaving for the day if the item or items interferes with proper guidance & discipline.
The decisions made by the staff of the Club are final.
*The Boys & Girls Club of Hood County is NOT responsible for any personal belongings that are lost, broken or stolen at the Club.*
Lunches & Snacks
You are welcome to provide snacks and drinks for your child.
Transportation is provided after school free of charge by GISD as a courtesy to the members who attend the Club.
If you would like your child to ride this bus please contact your child’s school.
On occasion, field trip transportation will be provided by the Boys & Girls Club of Hood County, on a first-come, first-serve basis
with a maximum amount allowed to attend.
Late Fee Policy
We ask that parents ensure that their child(ren) do not arrive early or leave late. Children remaining at the site after closing will be allowed to call their guardian and/or emergency contact for pick up. Excessive late pickups can and may result in suspension or removal from the program.
The Boys & Girls Club of Hood County’s policy is that if GISD or the Bluff Dale school district releases early or closes for bad weather
then the Club will do the same. Please check GISD’s or Bluff Dale’s Website or social media for current closures.
The Boys & Girls Club of Hood County will be closed on the following holidays.
New Year’s Day
Parents play a vital role at the Club. It is important that each parent be involved in the growth and development of their child(ren). Our Club's purpose is to provide assistance to the parent, the primary role models in the child's life, in installing moral values, gain trust and share love. We are here to help our members and their families.
In the event of parent contact as a result of guidance or discipline we expect the parent to support The Club and our staff.

By enrolling my child as a member of the Boys & Girls Club of Hood County, I agree to adhere to and abide by the policies of the Club stated in the Orientation Handbook.
The Boys & Girls Club of Hood County PHOTO RELEASE FORM
I hereby grant the Boys & Girls Club of Hood County permission to use my child or children’s likeness in a photograph, video, or other digital media (“photo”) in any and all of its publications, including web-based publications and social media, without payment or other consideration.
I understand and agree that all photos will become the property of the The Boys & Girls Club of Hood County and will not be returned. I hereby irrevocably authorize the Boys & Girls Club of Hood County to edit, alter, copy, exhibit, publish, or distribute these photos for any lawful purpose. In addition, I waive any right to inspect or approve the finished product wherein my likeness appears. Additionally, I waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising or related to the use of the photo.
I hereby hold harmless, release, and forever discharge the Boys & Girls Club of Hood County from all claims, demands, and causes of action which I, my heirs, representatives, executors, administrators, or any other persons acting on my behalf or on behalf of my estate have or may have by reason of this authorization.
